Did you know about the Stoke Gifford By-election 12th Feb 2009 ?
Thu 5th Feb 2009
The parish council have decided NOT to issue poll cards. Stoke Gifford Conservatives have a vacancy on the parish (North ward), but they would rather no one knew about it. Why the big secret? The fact that they don't want local people to know there is an election gives them a huge unfair advantage, and one of the main reasons for poll cards, is that sending poll cards to electors helps give a level playing field! They say that the parties will let the voters know there is a by-election, but we doubt that the Tories will be informing opposition party voters.

Inter constituency rivalries
Mon 2nd Feb 2009
Sadly this is the nearest Filton and Bradley Stoke PPC John Kiely got to retaining the inter-Constituency skittles trophy at the Winterbourne Community Centre last Friday (30 Jan). As a jubliant Thornbury and Yate team captain Cllr Dave Hockey tastes victory for the first time. But John was able to restore some Constituency pride, by winning the 'knockout' phase of the competition. In what was a very busy weekend, Fabs also welcomed the new Party President Baroness Ros Scott to a social event, where she outlined her thoughts on the future direction of the party and took part in a lively question and answer session, also a special thanks to Cllr Peter Tyzack & Lindsay Brady for the catering.

ANGER AT CHANGES TO BUS SERVICE 75
Mon 13th Oct 2008
Patchway Liberal Democrat Councillors Geoff and Jan Woodley, supported by Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate John Kiely have attacked plans by First Group to cut the route of the bus service number 75 from parts of Patchway altogether. The plans will also see the bus service terminate at the Centre in Bristol, leaving local bus passengers having to get a second bus for journeys onto Hartcliffe and Bedminister.
